About the material
Grown from hemp and mycelium.
HempComposite is made from sterilized hemp, inoculated with mycelium: the root network of mushrooms. As it grows, the mycelium binds the hemp into a solid, lightweight material.
Give it a shape and about a week to grow, and you have a biodegradable object that was grown rather than manufactured.

Mycelium is the branching root structure of mushrooms. It grows as fine, thread-like cells called hyphae, which weave together into vast networks.
Its importance reaches far beyond the mushroom: mycelium breaks down organic matter, returns nutrients to the soil and can store carbon.

HempComposite is composed of sterilized hemp and inoculated with mycelium. It is delivered as loose fibres, ready to go straight into your mold, no need to break up a grown composite block first. Ready to use, grow your own biodegradable mycelium objects with HempComposite in just one week! HempComposite needs to be stored airtight and cool (max. 4ºC) until usage. Process your material within 4 weeks after receipt.
